STASL established a Scholarship
Fund in 1993 within the St. Louis Community Foundation (STLCF)
– www.stlcf.org.
A minimum of two nonrenewable scholarships of at least $1000
will be awarded each year. The scholarship program is administered
by the STLCF, a public endowment that administers charitable
trust funds.
Applications may be obtained through the personnel
offices of STASL member firms or downloaded below and are to be submitted to the
STLCF. Application material is confidential and selections
are made by the STLCF.
Eligibility Requirements:
- The candidate must be a full-time employee,
a spouse of an employee, or a legal dependent of an employee
of a STASL member firm.
- The candidate must be planning to enroll
as a full-time student, as defined by the college attended,
or enrolled for at least 2 classes (six hours) if otherwise
employed full-time. Enrollment must be in a two or four
year college accredited by its regional accrediting association.
- The candidate may be a high school senior
or a current undergraduate college attendee.
- The candidate must have at least a 2.5 GPA
on a 4.0 scale.
Selection Criteria:
Awards will be based on the candidates’
academic record, participation in school and community activities,
and standardized test scores (SAT or ACT). The STLCF will
review the application form and the candidates’ transcripts
through the last semester of school attended.
